The track was constructed adjacent to Redbud’s
motocross track. It featured eight turns, including
four switchbacks and two wide sweepers. A rhythm
section, several jumps and an uphill “Horsepower
Hill” step-up further added to the track’s complexity.
Weather was in the mid-70s with partly cloudy
skies making for perfect racing weather for both
the fans and competitors.

In Pro Modified, Greaves, in his Yamaha, lead
from the pole and held off a charging Kyle Chaney
to score the victory after leading all 10 laps.
Chaney held on for second in his Can-Am, scoring
his ninth-consecutive podium and retaining a 13-point
lead on Rodney VanEperen in the championship.
VanEperen, who started sixth in his Yamaha, fought
power steering issues to finish third, ahead of
the Can-Am of Tim Farr and the Yamaha of Zac Zakowski.

Holeshot on Sunday

Greaves, who has dominated the Pro Stock class,
made his Pro Modified debut here driving his father,
Johnny’s, car. He finished second in the first
round on Saturday before the runaway win on Sunday.
Though he admitted to be down on power, his perfect
setup was evident by how his machine handled the
tight course.

in the Mod Class

“We put this mod car together late,” said Greaves.
“We’re a little down on horsepower, but today
the track was so rough it came down to picking
good lines and carrying speed. I knew Chaney was
fast and he had a couple of spots where he was
faster than me, so I needed to figure out how
to maintain. Once I figured out where my car wanted
to be, it came down to making no mistakes and
driving the car hard.”

Greaves was a busy man during the weekend. Along
with the two UTV races each day, he was also racing
his Pro 4 Truck.
“We just did one Pro Stock, one Pro Mod and now
we’re going Pro 4,” said Greaves. “I got a lot
of laps in this weekend and we’re learning more
and more about these cars every week. We’re going
to keep working on it. Just because we’re winning
doesn’t mean we’re set on the car. We need everything
we can get out of these cars.”
