Rocky Mountain UTV / ATV Racing Race Report
RMURA Round 3 - Grand Junction Motor Speedway

Rocky Mountain UTV Racing Association
Grand Junction, CO (7/23/2015) - Rocky Mountain UTV Racing Association (RMURA) have really been trying to make every effort to pull off National level racing in the beautiful state of Colorado, and we accomplished our goal Grand Junction Motor Speedway for Round three. This course was designed, tested, and tuned specifically for some great UTV / ATV racing with safety on the mind of the builders. There was technical sections, massive air jumps and tabletops that proved safe for experts and first timers!

The RMURA series has teamed up with a new sponsor, John Kuersten, of Kuersten Construction along with help from series racer, Dwight Hughes. Rocky Mountain UTV Racing Series is making plans to design a new track layout for each event held at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway, and turn this into one of the premier race locations for UTV / ATV racers and spectators in great state of Colorado.

The races weekend began with ATV racing, and we keep getting more ATV racers each round as the word spreads that we also are offering three different classes for the 50 minute ATV race in the morning.

The ATV classes have been growing by numbers each round

Just before the green flag flew the track saw a slight rain shower that only lasted for about 5 minutes. However the night before it rained quite a bit, which left a few muddy spots out on the course. Riders were challenged with sliding through corners and visibility problems as the roost from the machine in front of you would fill up your goggles with mud quickly.

Brian Barsh was up to the challenge, and he claimed his second straight win in the A class. Megan Heil finished with a solid second place finish followed by Gene Gallegos in third.

In the B Class it was Cordero Orona taking home the win followed by Bryan Hotard in second and Jeffery Devries rounding out the podium in third. At the top of the box in the C class we have Zach Steinke with Ryan Hegwood in second place.  It was great to have so many ATV racers making the trip out to Grand Junction, Colorado and be a part of the RMURA series.

Up next was the Beginner UTV and sportsman UTV race. This proved to be exciting and safe for these racers pushing their vehicles hard and sending them flying over the 29 jumps built into the course layout. In Sportsman UTV class, Team Red Fish’s Brady Nay took the holeshot and lead the race from start to finish for the win.
