Lyman, ME (5/22/2012) - MX series
visited MX207 for the third round of the 2012
ATV racing series. The weather was gorgeous for
both practice day and race day, with temperatures
reaching the low eighties and not a cloud in sight.
The track got dusty at times and a bit rough,
but the MX207 crew made sure the track was maintained
and watered throughout race day.
BCS Performance/Can-Am's Josh Creamer had another
excellent weekend taking first overall in both
Pro and Pro-Am classes. Off the line in the
first Pro moto, Creamer was second behind Team
Southside Polaris Travis Moore, but he made
quick work on Moore on the first lap and would
run away with the first moto win. In the second
Pro moto, Maxxis Tire’s Creamer flew off
the line into first taking the holeshot and
would keep gaining distance between him and
the rest of the pack. Creamer and the BCS Performance
team seem to have their Can-Am DS450 ATV dialed
in quite well thus far.

Kawasaki KFX 450 mounted Mathieu Deroy stayed
close with Moore off the line in the first Pro
moto, but was bumped off his line and it put
him back into fifth. Deroy battled with Can-Am
DS450 rider Brad Burbine for the first 4 laps
until he was able to make his pass on Burbine,
and also make his way into third by passing
Tommy Lombardo as well. Deroy rode smart for
the remaining laps, and took third in the first
moto.

Performance Ultimate ATV Mathieu Deroy had
a much better start in the second moto, shooting
off the line into second behind Creamer. Deroy
had a tough battle with Moore for the first
few laps of the race, but made a mistake before
the finish line and Moore was able to make the
pass and dropped Deroy into third. Troy Lee
Design’s Deroy didn’t give up and
stayed hot on Moore’s heels and was able
to make the pass for second on the last lap
in the back section of the track when Moore
ran into a mechanical issue with his quad. Deroy
would take second overall in the Pro class for
the day. “I took second overall, so it
is my second podium of the year and my first
second place position in the US so I am very
happy with this weekend,” commented Deroy.

at MX207 |
Team Southside Polaris Travis Moore had a strong
start in the first Pro moto, flying off the
line and taking the holeshot. After the first
lap, Moore was passed by Creamer, but Travis
did not let Creamer out of his sights. Unable
to make any moves on Creamer, Moore would finish
the first moto in second. Off the line in the
second Pro moto, JRI Shocks Travis Moore started
off in the back of the pack and was unable to
make any moves for the first four laps, but
was then able to make his way from fourth to
second.
