Innovation's Dustin Wimmers Clinches the
2011 NEATV-MX Pro ATV Championship |
Minot, ME - Dustin Wimmer sealed
the Pro and Pro-Am ATV Championship this weekend
at Hemond’s Motocross Park during the season
finale of the NEATV-MX series. A more perfect
weekend couldn’t have been asked for, with
clear blue skies and temperatures reaching the
high 70’s. On Saturday, practice went smoothly
and people began decorating and setting up their
campers for the annual Trick or Treating event
and Halloween costume contest.
NEATV-MX also held barrel racing for quads,
4x4’s, and Pitbikes Saturday evening,
before the kid’s motos and pitbike races.
The turnout of riders and spectators was respectable
for the final event that far north in Maine.
The Pro and Pro-Am classes held a few more riders
then we have seen in recent events, with five
in the Pro class, and ten in the Pro-Am class.

NEATV-MX
continued its annual Halloween costume
contest with kids & adults dressing
up in some wild looking customes, which
proved to be a blast for everyone |
In the first Pro moto, Suzuki LTR 450 mounted
Dustin Wimmer charged off the line with points
leader, Josh Creamer just inches behind him.
Wimmer battled to hold off Creamer throughout
the first lap, but Creamer, faced with a mechanical
issue dropped out prior to completing his first
lap.

#191 Dustin Wimmer grabbed the Pro Moto
One Holeshot with #270 Josh Creamer in
chase, but Creamer's run in 2nd would
end shortly into lap one with a snapped
chain, which left Creamer sidelined &
virtually out of the Pro Championship
points race |
Wimmer was able to keep his lead and gain distance
on the other riders. Wimmer ran the rest of
the first moto out in front, and was now ten
points ahead of Creamer for the Championship.
“Unfortunately Josh had some mechanical
issues in the first lap, and it sucks to win
the championship like that, but that’s
racing, and it could happen to any of us,”
commented Wimmer.

start to finish in Moto One, so all he
had to do in Moto 2 was finish the race
to clinch the championship |

#191 Dustin
Wimmer experienced a bent rotor in Moto
2, which left him without any rear brakes
|
In the second moto, Wimmer shot of the start
in third behind Travis Moore, but was able to
make his move on Moore and take over second.
Fox Shocks Wimmer now had to complete a solid
four laps (half the moto) and the championship
would be his.
In the second lap, a rock hit Wimmer’s rotar
and he had no rear breaks for the rest of the
race. But this didn’t stop him, and Wimmer
finished the moto in second and is now the 2011
NEATV-MX Pro ATV Champion.
