headed north for round 9 of the 2010 series as
they made their way to the gorgeous racing facility
known at Hemond’s Moto-X Park.
With lap-times pushing to nearly the 3-minute

cut out for them as they battled it out on this
hilly course. Jasmin Plante, Michael Pilotte,
and Cody Miller would be on both the Pro and
Pro-Am podiums with Jasmin Plante dominating
the Pro class and Cody Miller being the top-runner
in the Pro-Am class for the weekend.

Beautiful
weather graced round 9 of the NEATV-MX
series in Minot, Maine - Hemond's Moto-X
Park is built on the side of a hill where
spectators can see most of the racing
action that take place |
Beautiful weather, a great hosting facility
with optimal parking, and great racing action
were had by the NEATV-MX racers who attended
Hemonds Moto-X Park on August 15th. The Pros
were eager to test out the track as many of
them had never been here before so learning
the track layout would be a requirement.
In the first moto of the Pro Class it was the
DRT/KTM racer Michael Pilotte taking a commanding
holeshot and leading the pro pack down the hill
through the first few tight turns. Following
Pilotte closely out of the holeshot was Jasmin
Plante who would finish the moto in 2nd place,
Cody Miller would would finish the moto in 3rd
place, and Richard Pelchat who would experience
some difficulties and drop back to 12th place.

Michael
Pilotte had his sights set on the holeshot
as he blasted off the line in the first
Pro moto of the day just ahead of Jasmin
Plante & Cody Miller |
Yamaha’s Jasmin Plante would battle with
Michael Pilotte for the entire first Pro moto,
coming to within inches of striking distance
of the KTM racer multiple times. As the front
duo rounded each corner and battled on the long
uphill and downhill jumps, Plante would not
be able to make a secure pass for the lead and
would be forced to settle for second place in
moto one.

Jasmin
Plante would be the man to beat at Hemonds
as he went 2-1 on the day in the Pro class
to take the win & create even more
tension in the heated points battle |
As Pro moto two rolled around however it was
Rich Stambach with the holeshot and early lead
and who Plante would now have his sights set
on. By the mid-way point of the first lap, Plante
would sneak by Stambach and take over the lead
and hold onto this position for the entire moto
to go 2-1 and take the overall Pro class win
at Hemonds. “My Yamaha was running perfect
and never gave me any troubles. The track is
very nice and a few technical spots which I
liked and was able to make up some time on,”
said Plante after the event. Plante is now only
25 points behind the first place of Cody Miller
and 8 points behind Joe Haavisto in 2nd place
with 3 rounds left in the series.
Michael Pilotte was on fire after his great
weekend at Capeway for round 8 and wanted to
create some repetition while in Maine. He did
just that as he came screaming off the starting
gate with a moto one holeshot and win aboard
his DRT/KTM ATV. The win would not come easy
though as he had his hands full with Canada’s
Jasmin Plante trailing just behind in second
spot. Fortunately for Pilotte he was able to
hold on for the win during the first, long-winded
Pro moto of the day.

Michael
Pilotte grabbed the moto one win which
set him up for good position in his moto
two appearance as he took a 2nd place
finish giving him 2nd place overall as
well |
Pro moto two for Pilotte saw him slotting into
the 3rd spot right out of the holeshot just
behind Rich Stambach who took the holeshot,
and Jasmin Plante in 2nd place. By the midway
point the first place, he too was able to slip
by Stambach to go on and chase down Plante and
battle him for the lead. Unfortunately for Pilotte,
he was not able to catch Plante and would be
forced to settle for second place in the moto
and second place overall.
“ I can’t thank Chris Brown enough
for keeping my quad running great all weekend.
We made a couple changes after last weekend
and in between motos and I think it really helped
us out there. The track at Hemond’s was
really awesome but the dust held us up a little
bit during our races and luckily my wrist is
feeling better as well. I’m happy to be
back up here on the podium and I’m hoping
to keep this streak going for the rest of the
season,” said Pilotte after the race.
Pilotte’s 2nd place overall finish in
the Pro class at round 9 has him currently sitting
in 4th place in the points chase, just 9 points
out of the 3rd place of Jasmin Plante.
