#22 Cody
Miller & #270 Jason Connell battling
for the Holeshot
|
BCS Peformance's Cody Miller barely edged out
Jason Connell for the Holeshot in Moto 2 while
Can-Am's Joe Haavisto started near the back of
the pack, but amazingly, Haavisto was able to
quickly charge his way into the lead early in
the race while the rain poured down on the racers.
Once out front, Haavisto was able to hold off
Miller's challenge for the lead till the checkered
flag with Haavisto taking his first Overall
win of the season, and it couldn't have come
at a better time for the two time defending
champion who is now back in the hunt for a third
straight championship.
Cody Miller finished right behind Haavisto
to claim the second spot, which scored Miller
a fifth overall finish in the pro class. “That’s
racing you know, sometimes you do good, other
times bad luck strikes. We had a second bike
luckily that I could run in the second moto
and I’m happy to salvage some points and
remain in the points lead overall,” said
Miller afterwards.
