Spring Run, PA (8/31/2012) – It was time for the racers of the North East Extreme Dirt Track ATV Racing Series to once again fire up their engines for the next round of the 2012 series. Path Valley Motor Speedway played host to the round four of the series and would be greeted with a warm and sunny day. Entries were down for this race but spirits were up and the action was as hot as ever.

In the Pro main event, it would see the races tearing away at the super slippery and rough clay track, laying down less than 35 second lap times, the #3 Factory ESJ Graphics’ Andrew Evanyke would rip off the front stretch starting line and take the holeshot around the 180 degree bend into the first dusty corner. Evanyke would then get into his rhythm aboard his TSI built Honda TRX450R and begin to pull from the rest of the pack.

“For the Pro main, I put on a fresh set of Hoosiers on my Factory ESJ/TRE/Roberts Racing TRX450R, which tore off the line getting me the holeshot.. I was really surprised about that knowing I had 6th starting pick for the starting position. After a lap or so, I could really hear Ace pushing behind me. I knew I had to keep my head down and ride smart and stay smooth. I saw Ace a few times on the inside of me, but I was able to carry momentum on that high banked oval down the straight away and stay in front around the tight first corner. Lenny from TSI has helped me out a lot and built me a really strong and fast bike this year and I can’t thank them enough for that. It feels great to be up here in the front and take home my first ever Pro win!” said Andrew after the event.

Bringing home a 2nd place finish would be the #92 quad of Michael Houghton. The Baldwin Motorports/PEP backed racer would win the battle of attrition as two other racers would retire in front of him during the race. Houghton would come off the line and battle his way into 3rd place and stay there for much of the race.

Michael Houghton - Honda 450R ATV
Baldwin's #92 Michael Houghton benefited from Ace & Jennings having issues to take over the 2nd spot on the Podium

#401 Eric Jennings would then slide his way passed Michael bumping him back to a 4th place ride for a few more laps until Jennings would loop out and drop from the race with a stalled quad, which wouldn’t re-fire. Houghton would then retarget the #338 of Brian Ace who was running in second place. After several laps, Michael would then again become the lucky man of the race as Ace would suffer from mechanical issues which would allow Houghton to zip by taking home a second place finish for himself.

#338 Hellbound Racing’s Brian Ace would make himself present for the entire race as he was right up Evanyke’s exhaust silencer for the majority of the race. In the end, Ace would hold on for a 3rd place finish despite having transmission issues in the final laps.

Brian Ace - Honda 450R ATV
HB Racing's #338 Brian Ace challenged #3 Andrew Evanyke for the lead for the majority of the race, but Ace suffered transmission issues late in the race, which ended his charge and dropped Ace back to the third spot on the Podium

“I was pushing really hard and waiting for Andrew to make a mistake. The track was super slick and visibility was tough on the infield because of the dust. I slipped down under him a few times but kept my line and came out clean. Unfortunately my transmission was giving me issues and I couldn’t put a load on the motor. Luckily I was able to bring it around for the remaining laps and salvage some points.” said Ace after the main event.
