Snydersville,
PA (8/10/2011)
– Round 3 was underway Saturday, July 16,
when we first arrived at the talk of the pits
was how small the track was, but don’t judge
this book by its cover.
The track was one of the most technical tracks
the sport has ever seen. After practice was started,
the new subject in the pits from most riders was
they could not get a steady flow going. Round
3 had a diverse crowd, the normal EDT crew, plus
a slew of motocrossers and cross country riders.
With a double double in the one option lane and
a table top that the Metal Mulisha could do some
free style off of in the other, made the non EDT
riders feel right at home. By the end of the night
the track surprised everyone with how the track
took rubber and was fast all the way around. Round
3 was proudly title sponsored by Harry’s
Lawn Care. In the riders meeting, NE EDT President
Eric Jennings held a drawing for an amateur holeshot
award of $50.00. The drawing revealed the Production
class was the lucky class for the holeshot. Winning
the $50.00 holeshot award was NE EDT’s own
VP Brian Demarmels of Warwick, NY. Once again
it was the Brain Ace show grabbing both Pro/Am
and Pro Holeshots, earning himself $250 before
the first lap was over.
Production was the lucky class with the $50.00
holeshot award, from Harry’s Lawn Care;
it was NE EDT’s own VP Brian Demarmels to
win some of the cash. With Demarmels leading and
one of the MXer’s, Jim Foglio, in second
and the points leader Tiger Frindt in third, it
looked like there was going to be some good racing.
Demarmels was pulling away and the battle was
between Foglio and Frindt for second. Frindt was
looking for an opportunity to put some more points
on the board and to extend his points lead. After
10 laps it was Demarmels, Foglio and Frindt finishing
in third.
Pro/Am had a total of 12 riders signed up. With
a purse more than the Pro’s and $100 for
a holeshot award, the riders were looking ready
to work. Brian Ace won the first Pro/Am heat with
no pressure from anyone. Eric Jennings took home
the second Pro/Am heat with little pressure from
Brandon Gates, until Gates made a mistake and
let Steve Straka finish second. The final Pro/Am
heat went to EDT new comer Andrew Evanyke with
Andrew Ace hot on his tail in second.Evanyke put
some distance between himself and Ace, with Justin
Frindt finishing third.
