2011 North East EDT
Round #2 - Batavia Motor Speedway
Batavia, NY (8/10/2011) – Round 2 kicked off Friday night with an open practice to get dialed in. After the sun went down riders saw how the track transformed into one of the longest and fastest tracks they were going to encounter this year. The fastest lap time recorded was set by Brian Ace in the Pro class with 1:04:79, yes just over a minute! Saturday had great weather with a high in the 80’s and not a cloud in the sky. With two sets of option lanes and a ton of track to race on, spectators were in for a treat. The race was title sponsored by Dent Builders, putting up $300 in holeshot awards and an extra $100 to the Pro winner.

In the riders meeting, NE EDT President Eric Jennings held a drawing for an amateur holeshot award of $50.00. The drawing revealed the Open class was the lucky class for the holeshot. Winning the $50.00 holeshot award was Ken MacGregor of Bloomingburg, NY. Justin Frindt grabbed the Pro/Am holeshot and earned himself $100. Brian Ace made it look easy for the second time grabbing the Pro holeshot getting another $150.

NE EDT had a great turn out with 80 entries for round 2. The Production class had the most entries of all of the amateur classes with eleven. The track really separated the men from the boys as the laps were double of most EDT races. As the sun started to settle the mains were starting to get under way. Batavia local Jeff Wagner made it known he was going to represent Batavia’s riders with a solid ride pulling the holeshot and leading right to the checkered. With the track being so physically demanding, the pack separated itself very quickly and Justin Stimson finished second with the new points leader Tiger Frindt finishing third.
