Montreal, Quebec - For the first time in his career, Can-Am’s Richard Pelchat took the win at the 2011 Montreal Supermotocross to top the pro ATV podium. Can-Am’s Cody Miller had a great race to join Pelchat on the podium in second and John Natalie, Jr. charged his way to finish in third for a Can-Am podium sweep. Can-Am also took the top spot in the first ever SxS / UTV Race with Mark Holz taking the win in the Can-Am Commander.

The Montreal Olympic Stadium was packed with spectators for the Supermotocross racing action, which featured ATV, SxS, and motorcycle racing

Approximately 45,000 spectators were in attendance for the 2011 Montreal Supercross, but unfortunately, cold and wet weather, along with an outside set up for the pro pits saw a decline in fan/racer interaction, but some racers took it upon themselves to make sure they went out to meet and greet fans.

Can-am's John Natalie Jr signed autographs for some fans, but unlike in years past, all the pits were outside because the industry show was expanded for 2011, and with the rain, many fans didn't get out to check out the pro pits, so hopefully for 2012, the top pros pits are moved back inside

“We went inside and passed out some posters and did some autographs, so we were able to interact quite a bit,” said Can-Am/BCS Performance’s Cody Miller, who took the 2007 Montreal Supercross championship.

The course for this year’s event was quite technical and featured a triple-triple section that intimidated even the most seasoned pros, but for those who were brave enough to take the risk, were well rewarded with faster lap times and opportunities to pass.

During Friday’s and Saturday’s practices, there were several crashes with Josh Creamer and Richard Pelchat involved in two separate incidents, but both racers came away relatively unharmed and still able to race in Saturday night’s event.

It was an all-out war going into the first turn of the pro main event with plenty of carnage that claimed several racers, including, John Natalie, Josh Creamer, Cody Miller and Josh Upperman.

Can-am's #46 Richard Pelchat wheelied out of the gate & was squeezed out by #270 Josh Creamer & #13 John Natalie heading into the first turn where all chaos broke out

While the four American racers tried to up right and separate there quads, Can-Am’s Richard Pelchat was able to squeeze by after getting jostled around and came out in second behind #454 Noe Cardinal who grabbed the holeshot, but within a few turns, Pelchat took over the lead as capitalized on the pileup in turn one and began to pull away from the pack.
