The 2010 Montreal Supermotocross
was once again held at the Olympic Stadium
in Quebec, Canada |
Montreal, Quebec - Can-Am/Motoworks’
John Natalie showed ‘em how it’s done
and took the top spot on the podium at the 2010
Montreal Supermotocross. Joining him on the podium
were fellow Can-Am racers Richard Pelchat in second
and Cody Miller in third.
This year’s Montreal Supermotocross provided
one of the most technical and intimidating tracks
ever laid out for the event. While quads have
traditionally been given a tamed down version
of the track, with certain sections eliminated,
this year’s track was a full blown Supermotocross
style track and was the exact same track the dirt
bikes were running, and carnage was the name of
the game.

The jumps were peaky, the turns were tight and
if you missed a gear or hit neutral by accident,
the consequences could be dire. “It was
a tough track. The ruts were really bad and it
made it pretty tricky,” said Chad Wienen.

The Montreal
SuperMotocross event provides the largest
audience of any other ATV racing event
in North America with an average of 50,
000 spectators coming out to watch the
ATV & motorcycle racers along with
a freestyle show

Scott Murray
lands the double backflip during the halftime
show
|
The large crowd of cheering fans were treated
to an amazing halftime freestyle event with the
highlight being Scott Murray pulling off a double
back flip, which he had failed to execute at X-games
earlier this year. Murray’s success brought
the crowd to its feet and prepared the audience
for the evening’s main events.
The race events were set up with two qualifying
heat races and a main event. For the heat races,
it appeared that all the Quebec racers were in
one heat and all the American racers in the other.
