Sikeston, MO (6/6/2014) - Midwest Extreme Dirt Track series ROUND 3 took place in Sikeston, MO at Sikeston Racepark. The weather hammered the S.R.P. track the week before with 10 inches of rain that postponed the event to May 24th from May 17th which cost about 50 entries, but TRACK was happy to get the race in with its 144 entries, with 19 of them being 3 wheeler entries in 2 classes which was interesting to watch.

The Pro main event featured a nearly full front row with its 50’ wide starting straight that created evenly matched starting spots which led wide open into the first corner for the Maul Tech ATV Holeshot award.

Danny Seitz was second off the start (at the Maul-Tech Holeshot spot) on his Seitz / Wolff Motorsports Machine as H&H Extreme ATV’s Garret Keister put the move on Seitz in the second corner. The Keister / H&H / CV4 / DASA power plant kept Keister in the 2nd spot until lap 3 when he hit a soft spot in the track and tossed him causing a red flag.

After the restart, it was Wolff, Hibdon, Youngblood, Loshbaugh, and Reeves in the top 5 positions. Nathan Wolff pulled a good lead on his Wolff Motorsports / Round House Apparel / Walsh / Dasa / Maul-Tech Honda as most of the laps was ran through the tricky option lane that featured a motocross section. Wolff went on to earn this third MWEDT Pro Race at Sikeston Racepark.

The battle was for the all important third place and the final podium spot, as Dillon Youngblood on his Youngblood Racing / Honda of Tulsa / Rath / SSI Decals ran third for 10 laps then Colt Loshbaugh put the move on YoungBlood for thrid place. Colt Loshbaugh charged ahead of Youngblood till the end to finish fourth. Rounding out the top five was Lukas Reeves on his H&H Extreme ATV.

After Wolff started to struggle with his machine on the soft track, Colt Loshbaugh was able to make the pass on lap three. On lap four however, Wolff adjusted his riding style and used the option lane to make the pass back and controlled the race from there on. Colt Loshbaugh finished strong in second place followed by Josh Hibdon who rounded out the top three.

The Pro-lite Main was the second main of the night and it proved to be the most exciting as Garrett Keister grabbed the Maul-Tech Holeshot. Rusty Tanner took over the lead when chose the optional motocross line.

Dillon Youngblood also got around Keister as Tanner on his C&C Racing / Rage / Fly / Rath / DASA / PEP / C&C Motorsports machine battled with Youngblood the whole race as they swapped lanes lap after lap. The seasoned experience of Tanner proved to be enough for the win. YoungBlood had a strong run to second, while Keister held on to third. Bub Williams and James Brown rounded out the top five.

The Lucas Oil MWEDT Racing Series will head south for Round 4 that will be held at the North Central Arkankas Speedway in Flippin, AK. The racing action will once again be fierce as racers head into the second half of the Midwest Extreme Dirt Track Racing Series.
