Sikeston, MO -What happens when you gather up the World’s
fastest flat-track ATV racers, a tightly laid out
race course, a massive media presence, and a whole
bunch of cash up for grabs? One heckuva showdown!
With the promise of Airplay and TV Coverage from
the “Speed Chanel”, the racers were
all on the throttle hard, battling for that coveted
podium finish! The Lucas Oil Fall ATV Dirt Track
Pro Shootout would push the racers to their limits
at the tightly wove SEMO Raceway in Sikeston, MO.

SEMO
Raceway was packed with ATV racers &
fans for the special Lucas Oil On the Edge
Racing event, which provided the Dirt Track
ATV racers a chance to go big time with
the SPEED Channel's TV crew on hand to film
the event for a future show date & the
possibility of having the entire 2011 season
taped & aired on SPEED, so as day turned
to night, the SPEED channel TV crew came
out from hiding and began to film the Main
event racing action |
The weather at the SEMO Raceway in Sikeston,
Missouri was absolutely perfect during the day
with temps in the mid 70’s and nearly zero
percent humidity. The temps would quickly fall
however as soon as the sun jumped over the horizon
line which would have racers fighting to stay
warm before their motos.

Michael Coburn set the stage Firday Night
with the fastest qualifiying time of 37.2
seconds |
Qualifying for Saturday’s heats and mains would take place on Friday night
and if it were any indication of how the main events
would turn out then Michael Coburn was set from
the get-go. Coburn laid down the fastest time of
the night, albeit only .2 of a second faster than
that of Brad Riley. Coburn’s 37.2 second pass
would put him in first pick followed by Riley with
a 37.4, Brandon Sullenger with a 37.7, Chris Gary
with a 37.9 and Chuckie Creech with a 38.0. Harold
Goodman would run into some mechanical issues as
his ATV would not fire but would allotted extra
time and would eventually be able to slide into
4th place in the qualifying laps just behind Sullenger
on the leader board..
