12 Hour Endurance of La Tuque 2007 - Continued
Session 1: (4 hours on Saturday, Start
at 1:00PM)
Greg qualified the team in third despite
his near zero experience on our YFZ. Good Job! I decided
to let Greg do the first Le Mans start. He was able
to go around the first corner in 6th. Being no stranger
to endurance race, Greg rode smart, not pushing the
quad or himself too much placing the team in second
place before refuel. Yvan rode next for an impressive
1 hour 15 minute…Go! Yvan go! Bernard made sure
the team stayed in second place, we made quick pit stop
and send Greg for the last 25 minute. He did a great
job on putting the team on the same lap as the first
place finisher.

Yvan did the second Le Mans start and rode really well.
It was easy to see that he was comfortable on the YFZ.
Greg rode next but he had problem with thumb cramp (he
is used twist throttle for the past 15 years!!!). Bernard
was the true hero of the night session. I was really impressed
and proud: 1 hours and 30 minute in the worst conditions…amazing.
Thanks Bern! The night session was really tough on many
teams, with many motor issues. We were now 7 Laps ahead
of second place. **(See special note)
Session
3: (4 hours on Sunday, start at noon)
Bernard was my choice for the last Le Mans start. The
team order was “Cool” as we were already
enough in front. The message was respected by the riders
and the YFZ stayed in shape while others teams were
forced to wrench. We won the race by an amazing 10 laps
gap…We had no mechanical problem during the entire
race…actually we did break two tie-wrap!!!

on the podium. |
I am very proud of my team as once again we demonstrated
our true professionalism to represent my sponsors who
supported my team even if I wasn’t racing the
ATV. I also feel lucky to have had the chance to welcome
Greg Lassaigne on my team…It was fun to have him
around. We shared many things on our racing, many tips
and secret and at the end we both benefited things from
each other. We will definitely keep in touch. Thanks
for coming Greg, Brice and Olivier!
**Special note:
An unfortunate crash between a spectator
and a Quad put a black eye on the event. The collision
sent the spectator to the Hospital were he lost his
life. My prayers and support goes to the family and
the team involved in the accident. Stay strong.
