After
having some trouble in the tire section,
Sweet Home Alabama Team of Traci Cecco,
Jeff Pickens, & Johnny Gallagher
placed third overall in the Pro class
|
In the number three spot on the
Pro ATV podium was team Sweet Home Alabama featuring
Jeff Pickens and Johnny Gallagher. The team
also had a good race, but Johnny Gallagher did
have a close call that almost sent him over
the bars. Gallagher came into the tire pit area
a little too fast and stuck his front wheel
right into the center of one of the buried tires.
The hit was just right to stop Gallagher dead
in his tracks and causing the back of his quad
to come up in the air and put him into a hand
stand position on his quad. Somehow Gallagher
managed to save himself from going over and
continued on like nothing ever happened. The
team went on to complete 33 laps with a time
of 10:13:11, taking the number three spot in
their class and third on the overall podium.

In the Pro-am class, the Upah Racing team
took the win, and fourth overall, with 31
laps in a time of 09:57:18, edging out the
second place, and fifth overall, Epic Racing
team by almost ten minutes, while Team Profill’s
30 laps in a time of 10:06:37 was enough to
give them the third spot on the Pro-am podium
and allowed them to finish inside the top
ten in the number nine spot.

Can-Am's
ATV Team of GNCC Utility Champions Cliff
Beasley, Michael Swift, & GNCC XC1
Pro Adam McGill took the win in the
Pro Utility ATV Class |
Last year in the Pro Utility class,
the Zakowski Motorsports team dethroned 3-time
champions Cliff Beasley and Michael Swift of
the Can-Amtalk.com/ UXC Racing team. This year,
Beasley and Swift were set on taking back there
title and recruited Pro GNCC racer Adam McGill
to fill the third spot on the team for the event.
Despite it being McGill’s first time racing
a utility quad, he did remarkably well. “Adam
was out there doing about the same lap times
as Cliff and I, so it was definitely a good
call for us to bring him on board for this race,”
stated Michael Swift. The Can-Amtalk.com / UXC
Racing team had an amazing run, putting in 31
laps in a time of 10:16:10, which had the team
lapping all of their competitors at least twice,
and giving them the Pro Utility win. To top
it off, the team was also the only Pro Utility
team to finish in the top ten overall, in seventh
place. “We’re really happy to take
back the title and we plan to be back next year
to defend it,” said Swift.
