2011 GBC Heartland Challenge Presented by SAFRS ATV Endurance Racing Carlisle, Iowa August 20, 2011

Team ATR / Zakowski Motorsports got a great start off the line shortly followed by #5 Team Woodhead, #1 Team Ballance Racing Yamaha, & #3 Team Sweet Home Alabama

44 teams and 10 Ironman racers were lined up for the Lemans style start. As racers charged off the line, it was quite a spectacle, but the Yamaha / Ballance team, consisting of Taylor Kiser, Walker Fowler and Thomas Brown, took the early lead and pulled away from the rest of the competition. The team rode flawlessly and went without any major mechanical issues. Over the ten hour period the team completed a total of 34 laps in a time of 09:57:09, giving them the Pro ATV win and the overall win.

Team Woodhead also rode a solid race without and major issues and claimed the number two spot in the Pro ATV class and second overall after finishing 33 laps in a time of 10:01:04. “This year was all about consistency for most of these teams. They have all been here before and knew what to expect and they all seemed very prepared for this race, so there were very minimal issues for this event,” stated Andy Kyner.

Team Woodhead was consistent throughout the race & placed second overall in the Pro ATV class aboard their Honda TRX450R ATV
