"Steele Creek" Amateur ATV Race Report - Page Two

After a great battle in the Super Senior class between John Gallagher and Mike Ockerman the class win went to John Gallagher who also landed the third and final podium position for the AM overall. Traci Cecco placed her Yamaha in the number spot surrounded by Parton and Gallagher on their Polaris machines.

#205 John Gallagher joined the ladies on the Podium for the third time in his career with his first several years ago at the Big Buck GNCC and again last year at the Wisp

#399 Rick Cecco suffered his 3rd DNF of the season after the early lead over Scott Kilby
In the tightest class race of the day Scott Sleppy took his first class win of the year in the Sport class. Bobby Ousley was only .11 seconds back in the number spot edging out Joey “Wings” Margaria by a mere .03 seconds ending in the third position in the Sport Class. The 4x4 Open class had quite a showing for the first two laps and Rick Cecco at one point held the morning race overall. After two laps Scott Kilby did manage to take the lead and keep it for the duration of the race. Finding trouble on the fourth lap Rick pulled out and ended his chances for his first overall on a utility quad. Bryan Buckhannon did wind up in the second position followed by Todd Knippenberg in third. When you think of the Utility riders muscling those big machines around the course you may have been surprised when David Reese landed his 4x4 Lites Honda in the number one spot for the day. Reese used his skills to defeat Jerime Dudding by .08 seconds. Jamie Troutman rounded out the top three also riding aboard a Honda.

#820 Jesi Stracham earned her first Podium finish of the year with 3rd Overall
#823 Dylan Bradford made his 2007 Racing debut with the Overall Win

As far as the youth riders go it looks like it was a day for the ladies to shine. Jesi Stracham rounded out the third spot for the Youth Overall behind second place finisher Jerry Welch and the Youth Overall winner Dylan Bradford. All of the riders mentioned race in the 90 Modified (11-15) class. In the 90 Limited (11-13) class Cheyanne Shadron not only took the class for the day, but she also moved into the points lead in her class for the year. It is really nice to see the youth of the sport as they grow and fill positions of the racers that they look up to today. Go girls go……Look out Traci.
