Walker Fowler and Chris Borich battled wheel
to wheel for the last two laps of the race as
the pair swapped the lead back and forth, with
Fowler holding the lead heading into the final
turn of the race with Chris Borich attempting
to pull alongside of Fowler and go for the pass
when Borich bounced off of Fowler and into the
crowd on the downhill finish with Fowler taking
his second win of the year.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the fans
in the final turn of the race that were run
over during the battle for the win. GNCC camera
man, Jason Hooper, reportedly suffered a broken
leg and alteast three people were air lifted
to the hospital after unfortunate end to the
afternoon race.

Fortunately, Chris Borich wasn’t injured, and
he was able to remount his Suzuki and finish
the race in the second spot after an incredible
battle for the win that came down to the wire.
For Borich, he had his hands full the entire
race as he battled with Pro Rookie, Jay Shadron,
early on before ending the race in a battle
with Fowler and all along Borich didn’t have
any rear brakes for the majority of the race.

West Virginia’s Adam McGill came back from
a near last place start after colliding with
Chris Bithell in the first turn, but he charged
his way through the pack and was able to make
the pass on Shadron in the final laps to take
over the third spot on the podium for his fourth
podium finish of the year.
