Union, SC - The fourth round of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series took place Saturday at the sixteenth running of the Big Buck in Union, South Carolina. The race is a fan favorite with tricky hill climbs, tight pine sections and a few wide open fields. Chris Borich was the first and the last to lead the five lap face taking home his fourth win of the 2013 season. Reliable Tool Supply’s Chris Bithell came in second behind Borich and the Suzuki duo was followed by Am-Pro’s Walker Fowler.
The sun was shining as the racers took to the starting line at the race. After a live performance of the National Anthem and a flag presentation by the local Color Guard, the green flag dropped and Chris Borich grabbed his second Team Woodhead / DeRisi Racing Holeshot award of the season. Borich lead the stacked field into the woods; Borich soon checked up and let sophomore pro, Walker Fowler, take over the lead.

“It was a really good race. Chris (Bithell) and I jumped the creek and were able to pull away from the other guys a bit. We were rolling really well and I am happy to get another Holeshot and a win,” regarded Borich after the race.
Maxxis Tire’s Chris Bithell put in his second podium ride of the season. Bithell was last off the line and was in the back of the pack as they headed out of the chicane section. Bithell began making smart passes as the pro’s headed into the woods; he passed a few racers as they entered the woods and picked off of the rest field as the first lap continued. He was in fourth, 25 seconds off the pace of the leaders by the end of lap one.
