Washington, GA - Chris Borich checked off his 61st win at round two of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series at Aonia Pass in Washington, GA. Borich made his famous last lap pass to take the lead from Am-Pro’s Walker Fowler at the Maxxis General GNCC. GBC’s Johnny Gallagher earned third, finishing on the podium for the first time in ten years.

Chris Borich got his Maxxis Tires backed Suzuki LTR450 ATV near the front of the pack right from the beginning. Borich along with Chris Bithell and Adam McGill got into a race of their own and gapped the rest of the field by 01:44.40 on lap two. The trio continued their charge and Borich flipped between second and third position.

By lap three, both McGill and Bithell had experienced issues that set them out of podium contention. Borich now had his hands full with Yamaha’s Walker Fowler. Borich rode behind the young gun for two laps until the white flag came out and he clicked into high gear. Borich took over the lead and held onto it for the win on lap five. Borich used his ATV Innovation’s motor to turn the fastest lap time of day on the final lap, a 27:29.000.

“It was a good race; everything came together. The Suzuki was working awesome and I felt really good,” said Borich from the podium.
