Morganton, NC
(3/31/2012) – It was a tough
and brutal course at Steele Creek this weekend,
but Yamaha / Ballance Racing’s Taylor
Kiser topped the Pro podium, followed by Adam
McGill in second and Chris Borich in third at
round three of the 2012 GNCC Racing Series.
Steele Creek is known as one of the roughest
and toughest tracks in the GNCC series and
this round was no exception. Tight, rough
trails and limited areas to pass made for
an interesting day of racing, but it all went
well for Taylor Kiser.

Yamaha / Ballance Racing’s Taylor Kiser,
who has been long overdue for a win, came
from a top five start and cruised in the number
four position for two laps. “I had a
good start and was fourth going into the woods.
I just tried to ride smart and I made it into
the lead,” said Kiser.

Racing / Yamaha's #5 Taylor Kiser took
his first win of the 2012 GNCC ATV Racing
Season at Steele Creek |
Kiser may have taken over the lead, but he
had plenty of company as Chris Borich was
beginning to challenge him. “Chris caught
up to me and he and I battled it out for a
while and bumped a few times, but I was able
to keep the lead,” Kiser stated.
Despite the pressure from Borich, Kiser held
his lead to take the pro win. “It’s
been a long time coming. It’s been two
years since I took a win and it felt really
good to be back up on the podium. I have to
thank Bill Ballance Racing, my fiancée
Julie, my mom and dad, and all of our sponsors
for being behind me and for all of their support,”
said Kiser.

Racing's Adam McGill placed second on
his Moto-Xperts powered Honda 450R ATV
at Steele Creek |
Adam McGill was off to a mid-pack start along
with Chris Borich. The pair took off on a hard
charge and caught up to the leaders. “I
was in mid-pack with Chris and he and I got
together and just charged through everyone,”
said McGill.
In the final lap, Borich got around McGill,
putting McGill back into third, but a mistake
by Borich late in the race allowed McGill
to get by and take the second position, which
he was able to hold all the way to the finish
line.
