Millfield, OH (7/9/2011)
- Suzuki’s Chris Borich took the win and
extended his points lead at round number eight
of the 2011 GNCC series and was joined on the
podium by Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Taylor
Kiser in second and Brian Wolf in third. Meanwhile
Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Walker fowler continued
to dominate, taking his eighth straight win in
the Pro-am class.
Sunday Creek Raceway was the hosting facility
for the John Penton round with sunny skies and
temps in the mid 80’s. Track conditions
were good, with some areas of mud around the
creek crossings, but mostly just tacky conditions
and very little dust.
The pro points battle between reigning champ
Chris Borich and Adam McGill continued into
this round with McGill trailing Borich by only
seven points after McGill took the overall win
at Snowshoe. McGill was looking for another
victory at the John Penton round and hoping
to take over the points lead, however, Borich
was not about to go down without a fight.

Suzuki's
#1 Chris Borich finishes the 1st half
of the season with his 5th win of the
season & extends his points lead to
27 points over Can-Am's Adam McGill who
suffered mechanical issues & finished
back in 11th place |
Chris Borich, who was on a mission after being
defeated at Snowshoe, was looking strong and
fast as he paced himself in second behind Chris
Bithell in the first lap. The pair battled it
out and both ended up getting stuck on hill,
putting Borich back into fourth. Borich charged
hard and made his way back into second behind
Bithell once again and was waiting for the opportunity
to make his signature last lap pass for the
lead. Borich made his move in the fourth lap,
taking the lead and the win.

Yamaha's
#2 Taylor Kiser claimed his 4th podium
finish of the season by taking the 2nd
spot with a last second pass on #341 Brian
Wolf, which moved Kiser up to the 3rd
spot in points ahead of Chris Bithell
by just 2 points |

Pro
Rookie, #341 Brian Wolf continues to turn
heads with his third Podium finish in
four races, which has boosted Wolf into
the Top 5 in the points race |
Taylor Kiser was in fourth off the start and
took over second as he went into the second
lap, but fell back to fourth once again before
heading into lap three. Kiser charged hard and
made his way past Chris Bithell and Brian Wolf
to take second overall on the podium.
Honda mounted, Brian Wolf, put in a solid performance
to claim his third podium finish of the season.
Wolf, who was in third going into the first
lap, took over the lead for lap two after Bithell
and Borich got hung up, but his lead would be
short lived. Wolf fell back to third after Bithell
and Borich came charging through, but he was
able to maintain his number three spot for three
laps before reaching the checkered flag to join
Borich and Kiser on the podium.
