Gosport, IN (5/14/11) - An abrupt
end to round five of the 2011 GNCC series, due
to inclement weather, made for an interesting
round and surprising results as Brian Wolf would
top the podium with his first ever pro win, with
Chris Borich in second and Adam McGill in third.
Track conditions started off good as the track
was tacky for the most part with some dust and
a few puddles in the open areas, but that would
change as a storm system moved in late in the
race, for the final couple of laps of the afternoon
races. Officials had put out the two lap card
in the third lap, but the weather and track
conditions deteriorated so fast that on the
next lap, they put out the checkered flag, which
hampered Chris Borich’s efforts and allowed
Brian Wolf to take the Pro win.
Brian Wolf was in second off the start and
took over the lead in lap two, but Chris Borich
was in second, just a few seconds behind him.
Wolf led for three laps and tension was high
as everyone was in anticipation of Borich making
a charge for the front, but Wolf would catch
a huge break as the race was cut short due to
the weather, giving Wolf his first Pro career
win.
