River Ranch, FL - Round one of
the 2011 GNCC series kicked off with none other
than Chris Borich on top of the podium. Borich
continued his charge from last season, taking
what seemed to be an easy win, and was joined
on the afternoon podium by Taylor Kiser and Chris
Bithell.

Pro XC1 ATV Racers headed to the starting
line to kick-off the 2011 GNCC Racing
season, which was only 1 less than 2010,
but the afternoon race attendance was
down by nearly 30 percent over last year
with just 121 entries |
Although rain was in the forecast, the weather
for the first round of the season was beautiful
with partly sunny skies and temps hovering around
the 80 degree mark. The track was typical for
River Ranch with lots of Palmetto roots and
whoops that developed in the sandy soil, that
are always something for racers to contend with,
but Chris Borich seemed to take it all in stride.

Solutions' Sloan Jackson grabbed the Holeshot,
but KTM's #8 Bryan Cook took over the
lead within a few turns |
As the XC1 pro class left the starting line, Chris
Borich was in a solid top five position behind
Sloan Jackson, who grabbed the holeshot. Borich
wasted no time in moving through traffic to get
into a solid second place. Borich utilized his
same tactics he employed last season and waited
until the final two laps before making his move
for the lead. Borich took the lead shortly before
heading into lap four and once out front, the
Suzuki mounted racer cruised to the checkered
flag and the top of the podium.

Chris Borich rode with the lead pack the
entire race, but in the final lap, he
turned on the gas to take over the lead
and claim the win |
