Columbus, OH - The 2007 ATVA
Duro Extreme Dirt Track Series honored its champions
on October 20th with a year end banquet in Columbus,
OH at the Fort Rapids Water Park Resort. Riders
both young and old enjoyed the water park all
day on Saturday before the official ceremony kicked
off.
The Awards Banquet doors were opened at 5pm with
a buffet dinner beginning at 5:30. While the dinner
was held, the over 300 riders and family members
in attendance were entertained by comedian/entertainer/minister
Barry McGee. McGee posed as a bum that had wondered
in off the street interrupting the banquet. Before
long the crowd realized McGee was part of the
show and enjoyed his outstanding performance and
message.
Immediately after the dinner the awards presentation
began. ATVA Director Doug Morris served as the
evenings’ master of ceremonies, while Michelle
Hetrick was the 2007 trophy girl. Each class honored
the top ten riders on stage and each rider had
the opportunity to recognize their sponsors for
the season. Along with honoring each of the top
ten riders in every class, there were several
special awards given out.
