Goldsboro, NC - The
double header weekend for the AMA Extreme Dirt
Track ATV series was in full swing after Friday’s
main event at Busco Beach ,which saw the pros
battling it out with #708 Harold Goodman clinching
the Pro ATV Championship. #27 Brad Riley would
also seal the deal on his championship title for
the 4th year in a row in the Pro-Am unlimited
class even before the start of round 8. The final
round would also see hot weather, which was even
warmer than the previous day with temps in the
high 90’s and very humid air. The EDT racers
would lay it all on the line for this, the 2012
season finale.

The Busco
Beach track was changed up for Round 8
of the double header weekend with an infield
section removed, which opened up the back
straight away, which allowed racers to
reach speeds of over 80mph and shortened
the laptimes down to under 40 seconds
for the final round of the season

The Pro class would line up to the dusty line
as the racers would prep their tires and dust
off their perspective starting spots. The holeshot-master,
Harold Goodman, who had only been beat to the
holeshot two times earlier in the season, both
by Brad Riley, would once again prove why he’s
the champ. Goodman would come off the line with
a bike-length lead and nab the holeshot but would
be closely pursued by #038 Michael Coburn and
#25 Chuckie Creech heading into the first turn.

Even though the #27 of DASA / Two Se7en Motorsports’
Brad Riley did not get the holeshot, he was still
able to come from a less than top-5 deficit and
take the win! Brad would be on the move early
on and passing riders as soon as the opportunities
presented themselves but he really caught a break
near the latter part of the race when Goodman
would lose traction around a corner and let a
few riders slip past, Riley being the head of
that bunch. From there, Riley rode a hard, smooth
pace and came away victorious solidifying his
second place year-end finish.

#038 Michael Coburn

“I knew I had to get off to a top 5 start
and that’s what I did. This put me second
in the pro class overall for the year, not really
where I wanted to be at the end but I had a good
run,” said Riley.
