win on Friday night |
For those ATV racers that made the trip out to Oklahoma,
they were treated to a barbeque dinner and live
band on Friday night during practice and the short
track race. Also, there were some great awards for
holeshots and wins with over $8,000 in awards ranging
from DVD players, LCD TVs, and more. Also, the Pro
purse was $8,000 as well with first place taking
home $2,000.
The Outlaw Motor Speedway featured a half mile
oval track with split lanes running through the
infield that gave racers the opportunity to pass,
but the track was really rough in sections, which
took its toll on the racers especially since it
was rather hot with temps in the 90’s. There
was a steady breeze all day, which provided some
relief from the heat for the spectators, but it
also caused the track to dry out, which made for
some dusty conditions at times between water breaks.
In the Pro main event, there were two restarts
for the class. The first restart occurred when
Daryl Rath jumped the light, which sent him to
the back row for the restart, and Rage ATV’s
Harold Goodman would grab the Holeshot with the
clean restart followed by Walsh’s Michael
Coburn in chase for several laps before the red
flag would came out when a racer spun out and
the racing action was stopped.

Rage ATV's
#708 Harold Goodman grabbed the holeshot
followed by #038 Michael Coburn in the
restart of the Pro Main

The racers headed back to the line in their current
race positions for a staggered restart since five
laps of racing was already in the books. Instead
of lining the racers up front to back, the racers
were lined up offset from each other, which allowed
for a clean restart of the race, and once again,
it was Harold Goodman taking off with the lead
over Coburn. Goodman pulled a nice gap and held
it all the way to the checkered flag for the Pro
ATV class win.

When the
race was stopped after several laps of
racing, the racers were lined up for a
staggered restart, which went off smooth
with Goodman maintaining the lead
