Franklin, PA - Houser Racing’s Harold Goodman topped the Pro and Pro-am podium at round number six of the 2011 Extreme Dirt Track Series, while Kirby Cooke dominated the Pro-am Unlimited class.

Tri City Speedway was the hosting facility for round six where a threat of rain loomed over Saturday’s races. With rain in the forecast, track officials decided to keep watering to a minimum in case Mother Nature decided to let loose, but the rain never came and dust became an issue in some classes, but that didn’t seem to matter much to Harold Goodman.

PRO ATV MAIN RACE REPORT

As the Pro class left the line, Harold Goodman grabbed the holeshot and was followed closely by Michael Coburn. After several laps of pressuring Goodman, Coburn fell back allowing Goodman to cruise to the finish line, taking the Pro class win.

“Michael was close on the start, but I edged him out at the last minute. He stayed with me for a while and tried to make a pass a couple of times but I was able to keep the lead and take the win,” explained Goodman.

Michael Coburn was looking fast off the start as he was side by side with Goodman going into the first turn, but was pinched out in the holeshot, putting him in second. Coburn mounted an attack, but things did not go according to plan. “I was right behind Harold and my rear brake reservoir broke and I had no back brakes so I had to back off a bit. Then Brad Riley started to catch up, but I was able to hold him off and finish in second,” said Coburn.

Brad Riley charged hard off the start, taking a fourth place position behind Brian Ace. Riley applied the pressure and despite the narrow track, was able to get by after a few laps when Ace made a mistake. Once in third, Riley began to chase down Michael Coburn and caught him in the final laps, but was unable to make a move before reaching the checkered flag.

“It was really single lined out there and it was dusty off the start so it was hard to see as well, but I still made it to the podium so I’m happy with how everything went for the most part,” said Riley.
