Amazingly,
after several inches of rain fell on the
Birch Creek Motorsports track for two
days leading up to the race, which cancelled
Friday Night's Practice, but by Saturday
morning, the track was ready for racing.
Sure it was a bit rough in spots from
all the moisture in the clay, but it held
up for some great racing action

Ken
Ferrell & the entire Birch Creek crew
did a great job prepping the track &
amazingly they had to start putting down
some water by mid-day |
Birch Creek was the hosting facility for this
round of the EDT series that saw some damp conditions
and decent track conditions despite rain that
fell on Thursday and Friday. There was plenty
of action as racers left the line in the Pro class
with Harold Goodman and Michael Coburn going toe
to toe as they shot off the line.
Harold Goodman was the one who would grab the
Pro main event holeshot, but he was not alone
as Michael Coburn was hot on his heels. Coburn
challenged Goodman for the entire race, but Goodman
was able to keep Coburn from making the pass despite
the intense pressure and went on to take the Pro
win.

“There had been a lot of rain Thursday and
Friday and even though everyone did a great job
of getting the track ready, it was still a pretty
single lined track, so as long as you could hold
your line and not make any mistakes, it wouldn’t
be easy for anyone to get around. I’m really
happy to take the win and have the points lead.
I am now looking forward to Ashtabula. I usually
do well there, so we’ll see how that goes,”
sated Goodman.
