On Thursday,
Eastern Oklahoma was being soaked with
thunderstorms and heavy rain, and cloudy
skies lingered into Friday, but by race
time on Saturday, the conditions improved
dramatically to provide for perfect racing
conditions with partly cloudy skies and
temps in the mid 60’s
|
Dry conditions were on hand at Thunderbird Raceway
for Saturday’s races. This was the first
time the track has played host to the EDT series,
but racers were impressed. The track was a longer
than most track, and it included several jumps
and plenty of turns to keep things interesting
and fun for everyone. “The track was really
fun but it was tough to pass so getting a good
start was crucial for this round,” said
Harold Goodman, who is known for his excellent
starting abilities.

SDR Performance's
Brian Stacy & his crew designed a
very fun track for the EDT racers, but
it was on the narrow side, which limited
passing opportunities, but the track held
together great & dust was at a minimum
for the entire weekend

It was Goodman’s holeshot in the Pro class
that allowed him to take the lead and the win.
Goodman was followed by Casey McKibben, Kirby
Cooke, Michael Coburn, Chuckie Creech and Brad
Riley. Goodman was able to pull away while the
rest of the pack battled it out.

Hoosier Tire's
Harold Goodman grabbed the Pro Holeshot
followed by Casey McKibben & Kirby
Cooke, but an early collision between
the pair opened the door for some breathing
room for Goodman who would lead from start
to finish to claim the win & pro points
lead over 2010 Champion, #038 Michael
Coburn

“I got the holeshot and I just held the
lead for the entire race. There was some kind
of collision behind me and that let me pull away
and have a good gap between me and everyone else.
It was actually kind of uneventful for me, but
that’s a good thing!” joked Goodman,
who is now only seven points off of current pro
champ, Michael Coburn for the pro points lead.
