The
skies opened up early Sunday morning and
didn't stop until the late morning, this
provided the track workers with a host of
chores to get done but provided a little
fun for the fans in the mean time with a
"mud-slide" on the inside of the
last bowl-turn at Pine Lake |
Long-time
flat track ATV racer Shane Hitt made an
appearance at the 2010 Pine Lake round 5
EDT race & came away with a win in his
30+ Class & a 2nd place in the Pro-Am
main - he catches up with Women's racer
Stephanie Rehagen & fellow Pro racer

Weather was a major factor in this weekend’s
racing agenda as heavy rains before and during
the event would cause the track workers to put
in a little extra elbow grease to keep the track
in good condition for racing.
Racing began at Noon on both Saturday and Sunday
and by this time the track was in optimal condition
and super tacky, ready for some hot action! The
racers charged off the line in the Pro Main event
which saw Honda’s Harold Goodman lead from
the moment he grabbed the holeshot all the way
to the checkered flag, 20 laps later.

Harold Goodman
pulled the Pro Main holeshot aboard his
Houser Racing Honda ATV & with Michael
Coburn in-tow, the pair began to check
out on the rest of the field
|
Goodman has been racing on this track ever since
he bagan racing in the late 1980’s and he
said; “It feels great to come back out here
and race against the fastest guys in the world
and still be able to compete.”

Honda's
Harold Goodman was running up front with
Michael Coburn closely behind until a crash
would results in a red flagging & restart
of the race, this would give Goodman some
breathing room to go on for & take the
win |
N-Style
Constructions' Brad Riley took a nasty spill
while coming out of a long sweeper at Pine
Lake after he clipped the back end of Danny
McGraw which sent him tumbling into a guard
rail & left his quad with a pair of
broken handlebars |
Goodman’s lead and reign up front was cut
short due to a the red flagging of the race because
of a smash up late in the race which saw Brad
Riley tumbling on the exit of a high speed corner
which would render his ATV useless with a set
of broken handlebars. After the restart, Goodman
was still up front with Michael Coburn hot on
his heals but was able to hold off the charge
until the end of the race.

Michael Coburn gave Harold Goodman a run
for his money, but with the restart &
a badly degraded set of rear tires he was
not able to capture the #1 spot |
Michael Coburn was on the bumper of Harold Goodman for the entirety of the Pro
Main but was unable to make a pass attempt on the
tight, tacky track of Pine Lake. “After the
restart, I had nothing for Harold, my back right
tire was smoked from pushing it so hard earlier
in the race staying up front with him, I was right
there, just couldn’t close the door before
the flag flew. My chain broke and came off in the
Pro-am Unlimited class and in the Lites class, my
motor quit about five laps in. It wasn't really
how I hoped things would go for me. The final race
of the day in the Pro class went good for me. Harold
edged me out on the holeshot, but I stayed with
him and took second,” said Coburn after the
race.
