Danville, VA - Recent Pike’s Peak record breaker, Michael Coburn, took a pair of wins in the Pro and Pro-am classes of the 2010 Extreme Dirt Track Series, while Brad Riley would claim the victory in the Pro Lites class and Can-Am’s Chuckie Creech would make the podium in both the Pro and Pro Lites classes.
PRO ATV MAIN RACE REPORT

Track conditions were good and the weather was sunny and hot at Birch Creek as racers charged off the start in the Pro main event. Michael Coburn, who was fresh off of setting another record and taking a win at Pike’s Peak just a couple of weeks prior, was in top form as he grabbed the holeshot and immediately began to pull away. Coburn would hold his lead from start to finish, taking the Pro class win.

“I was really afraid I wasn’t going to get the holeshot after they red flagged the first start, so I was a little nervous, but I got out front and held my lead all the way. I have to thank Sparks, Hoosier and all of my family and friends that were at this round. It really makes a big difference to have all that support,” said Coburn.

Brad Riley, who took a hat trick win at the last round, got pinched out on the start of the Pro class and had to work his way up through traffic. “I got caught between Frank Batista and Kristopher Bures on the start and I got shut out, so that put me back a bit,” stated Brad Riley.

#27 Brad Riley charged his way from the back of the pack to claim the 2nd spot behind Coburn, which maintains his Pro points lead with 110 points. Coburn currently has 101 points with 3 rounds left

The number 27 Honda put the hammer down and soon found his way into third, right behind Chuckie Creech. The pair would have quite a battle before Riley would take over second place in the final lap.

Can-Am’s Chuckie Creech was looking good as he shot off the line in fifth place. Creech, who fractured his elbow recently, held strong and charged his way into second, but would fall back to third after a slight bobble in the final lap, leaving him to settle for a third place finish.

Jay Rehagen would hold on to cross the finish line in fourth place, while Frank Batista would fall back from second to the number five spot as he reached the checkers.

Kirby Cooke, who would finish in a strong third in his heat race, would claim a solid sixth in the Pro main, while Brian Ace would stay consistent with a seventh place finish. Trent Powell would hang on for an eighth place finish, with Damon Brown finishing in a close ninth and Kristopher Bures would round out the top ten.
