Dundee, NY - The ATV Extreme Dirt Track Nationals headed to the
Southern Tier of Western New York for round number
three of the 2010 season at Black Rock Speedway
in Dundee, NY.

The
Weather for round 3 was hot & sticky
with moderate winds which helped to blow
the dust away from the fans as the racers
tore up the Black Rock track for the first
time in EDT history |
The
track at Black Rock Speedway was in need
of some finesse before the racing could
start on Saturday. Dirt track racers from
the nearby Batavia Motor Speedway, along
with the Pros helped out |
The weekend saw very hot and sticky weather along
with hot racing action in all the classes as this
was the first time in EDT history that ATV racers
hit the soils of Black Rock Speedway. Malaska
Motorsport’s Brad Riley laid down the law
in New York as he came away with a hat-trick of
wins this past weekend as he swept the Pro, Pro
Lites, and Pro-Am Unlimited classes.
In the Pro ATVMain Event, it was the McKibben
Motorsports Honda of Frank Batista with the holeshot
followed closely by American Racer’s Brad
Riley, and Can-Am’s Chuckie Creech.
As the Pro racers rounded the first bend on
the slick black clay track, it was apparent that
Batista didn’t want to make the trip all
the way from California and come away empty handed.
He hammered his DASA engine to the max as he blitzed
the corners and lead he Pro pack around the tight
first turn and into the sweeping option lanes.

Motorsport's #27 Brad Riley used the option
lanes in the latter part of the race to
make the pass on Batista for win |
Brad Riley was never more than a few short seconds behind Batista as the pair
were playing tag as they rounded the extremely
short, fast paced track of Black Rock. Around
the midway to three quarter point of the 15-lapper,
Riley made his move as the pair passed through
the inside-outside option lanes just before the
finish line straight away.
Once in the lead Riley was in his own element
and began to put a small portion of time between
himself and the other Pro racers.

#13
Frank Batista fended off the attacks from
#27 Brad Riley for much of the race, but
in the end couldn't hold on for the win
& finished in a respectible 2nd place
for his 1st Podium finish of the year |
Frank Batista did not give up though as he continued to apply the pressure
onto Riley and fight off the advances of Creech
for the remaining laps of the race.
“That was a heck of a race wasn’t
it?! I am just so fatigued right now from the
heat, I was keeping up but my stamina gave out
on me towards the end. Im really happy to put
my McKibben Motorsports / DASA Honda ATV up on
the podium though and I’m really looking
for another win soon,” said Batista after
the battle.
Can-Am’s Chuckie Creech was back in the
thick of things for round three as he was up front
battling with the two Honda rides of Riley and
Batista. Even though Creech was suffering from
some power and electrical issues on his ATV he
was still able to hang right up front and apply
the pressure to the two front runners.
“Yeah you know, this track has a huge outside
left hander and our quad wasn’t pulling
enough around there, but the handling is excellent
and we were able to make up some ground on Riley
and Batista on the infield portion of the track
where it got tighter. I’ll be looking to
break into the top spots at Birch Creek next round
in Virginia,” said Creech after his 3rd
main of the day.

Chuckie
Creech was on the gas for the Pro main &
came away with a 3rd place finish on his
Can-Am DS450 ATV |
Maxxis'
Kirby Cooke was on the rebound after some
mechanical issues earlier in the day &
came away with a 4th place overall |
Following Creech during the Pro main was Maxxis’
Kirby Cooke who recovered from an earlier incident
during the day on the track with a rock that got
lodged in his front hood assembly during the heat
races. Michael Coburn in fifth place, The Bird
Man Jay Rehagen in sixth, Kris Bures in seventh,
Mike Mahan in eighth, with Damon Brown and Trent
Powell battling it out for the top 10.
