Columbus, OH - The 2008 Extreme Dirt Track Awards Banquet was an upbeat event full of celebration with 203 racers and their families in attendance. Fort Rapids Indoor Water Park Resort was the hosting facility for the ceremonies where the EDT racers were honored for their season’s achievements. The ATVA’s Doug Morris took the stage as the MC for the evening, but before the awards were to be handed out and the true celebrating would begin, there were several announcements that were made regarding changes for the upcoming 2009 season.

It was announced that respected, long-time Promoter’s Chairman, Ken Farrell would resign and Roy Reed, who has been involved with the series for many years, would step up to fill the position for 2009. “I am looking forward to my role next year and hope to make some positive changes for the 2009 season,” said Roy Reed. Also announced was that “Smitty” Bob Smith would also be stepping down from his role as referee and would be replaced by Ken Marcou in 2009. Even though Ken and Smitty will be missed by all, they are leaving their positions in very capable hands.
