AMATEUR
ATV RACING REPORT |
In the Women’s class, Paula Shank claimed
her third win of the season, holding onto her points
lead, but Lexi Wren is within striking distance
and could take the championship if things do not
go well for Paula at the final. Bailey Williams
took over the third place points position this weekend
with Andrea Creech only finishing in 5th, but Andrea
could still take back the number three spot if she
finishes in the top three next round.

#48
Bailey Williams & #27 Paige Cowell battled
for the 3rd spot in the Women's Class with
Williams holding onto the position, but
the pair also secured individual wins with
Williams claiming a season first win in
the 265A Class & Cowell took the win
in the 265C Class. Amazingly the Top 5 Women
racers all compete in other classes and
all five of them secured top five finishes
at I-81 Speedway, which is a real testament
at the level of competition among these
women racers
|
Justin Lawson continues to hold the points lead
in Production A and now has a little breathing
room as his closest competitor in the points race,
Michael Blanchard, finished at the bottom of the
pack this past weekend, allowing Lawson to relax
a little before going into the season final.

|
For
the 2nd Straight Race, Brooks Williams has
swept the 265B, 4-Stroke B, and Production
B Class, and he is one round away from a
shot at securing the championship in all
three classes as well |
#71
Nathan Wolf was missing from action at Dixieland,
but the rest must have done him well as
he came out at I-81 to secure as season
first win in the 4-Stroke A Class along
with a 2nd place finish in 265A |
In the youth classes, Lake Kuba continued his
domination of the 90cc Modified class with his
6th win of the season, which has already secured
him the championship for 2008. Kuba also went
on to continue his sweep of the 105 modified class,
where he again has secured his championship.
The 71-90 Production Auto class had one of the
closest point races of the series with five riders
all within a 10 point range of each other, but
after this round, it was Kevin Hagerty who took
over the points lead from Garret Keister. Hagerty
now has 127 points, which is a 14 point lead over
Keister who had some issues at the last round
and only finished in 8th place.

#42
Caden Pope brought home the Gold in both
the Youth Production Senior & Production
C Class |
#52
Brett Walsh claimed his 4th win of the season
in the 51-70cc Shifter 6-11 yrs Class, and
is given Zach Wentz a serious run for the
championship |
The final round of the 2008 ATVA Extreme Dirt
Track National series will be held on September
6th at Fayette County Fairgrounds in Brownstown,
IL. It should be an intense and exciting event
as Pro Championship will be decided along with
many other amateur championship title chases coming
down to the final round of racing..
