Harold Goodman takes over Pro Points lead
with Win at Ozark Mountain Raceway |
Ava, MO -After nearly a month since
the 2008 Extreme Dirt Track season opener at Twin
Creeks, EDT racers headed to Ozark Mountain Raceway
for Round 2 in Ava, Missouri. The extended break
seem to suite the defending Pro ATV Champion, Harold
Goodman, as he claimed the win convincingly, and
took control of the Pro Points lead, while South
Dakota native Michael Coburn cleaned up in the
Pro Lites class.
With Brownstown, IL postponed to September 6th
due to rain, many racers kept an eye to the sky
at Ozark Mountain Raceway because the threat of
heavy rains was once again in the forecast, but
luckily the was spared from the heavy rains with
only a few light rain showers moving in on Saturday,
which caused a couple of 15-minute rain delays.
Otherwise, the racing went off without a hitch.

It was obvious that track owner / promoter, Roy
Reed, had been putting a lot of time and effort
into improving his venue, as there were many changes
to the track and facility since Extreme Dirt Track
last visited in the 2007 season. The track had
been redesigned and stripped of many of the rocks
in the off-season. Also, a new scoring tower resembling
a barn was now erected, which was created a buzz
among the racers.. “The lanes were really
smooth and they were primed really well,”
said Pro racer Michael Coburn.

finishes at the Twin Creeks season opener
to claim the Pro Lites Win and Pro Podium
finish |
The improvements seemed to suit Coburn very
well. As the racers left the line in the Pro Lites
class, Coburn grabbed the holeshot and had a
good lead over the rest of his class. “I
tried to ride smart out there. I knew Harold (Goodman)
was behind me and I didn’t want to make
any mistakes,” Michael said.
“I got 7th in the holeshot and then I had
a hard time getting around a couple of guys,”
said Harold Goodman in regards to his Pro Lites
performance. “Once I got past, I started
catching p to the two leaders, but I ran out of
time before I could close in enough to make a
pass,” Harold stated.

Kendall Webb's
4th Place finish was enough for him to
maintain the Pro Lites Points lead (48
points) over Harold Goodman & Mitch
Reynolds now tied for 2nd Place with 46
Points.
