Best in the Desert Racing - BITD Series

GMZ BITD Winter Nationals UTV Race Report
::Continued::

In the Turbo UTV Class, Mark Queen grabbed the holeshot, but had issues early and Garrrick Lastra ran away with the race from there in his bone stock Can-Am Maverick X3. Matthew Hancock finished second in a Polaris, followed by Sheldon Stowell in Dan Fisher’s Can-Am.

“I did OK off the start,” said Lastra. “It took a little while for it to crank over, I bumped tires and I got off fourth. Guthrie flipped his car, I got past a few people and I started chasing Branden down before he had belt problems. This car is bone stock except for the exhaust. This thing rips.”

“I wish I had a little more speed, but it’s great to start off the year with no problems,” said Hancock. “There were a lot of wrecks and problems around me while I worked my way up to the front. I started to run low on fuel at the end, so I had to pace myself. In fact, I’m glad it ended when it did because I don’t think I could have made another lap on fuel.”

Jeremy Goodall claimed the UTV 900 class win, and In the UTV 700/800 class, Maxxis’ Skyler Bulloch secured the class win with his Arctic Cat Wildcat 700.

“It was awesome to get this win today,” said Gonzalez. “I was third into the first corner and had to pass Luke Knupp to get the win. I had a fun battle with Luke. It made me a better driver.”
