BITD Pahrump Nugget 250 UTV
Race Report
::Continued::
Brandon Schueler, who was fifth, was one of the
few competitors in the field who competed in the
last race at Pahrump. He said a lot has changed
in eight years.

X Racing's Brandon Schueler rounded out
the top five at the Pahrump 250 & finished
4th in the BITD Turbo points championship |
“We raced this event in a Rhino in 2007 and a
RZR with stock suspension in 2008,” said Schueler.
“It’s amazing how much these machines have changed
since then. We were running an average of 20-25
mph back then. Now we’re in the 40s. We built
a new car halfway through the season and had a
great run, but we had our share of new car blues.
The competition here is tough. It’s getting tougher
and tougher to get a win. You really have to have
a flawless race to win in BITD.”
Mitch Guthrie Jr experienced several mechanical
issues during the race. The shining light in his
sixth-place finish were his ITP Tires.

ITP's
Mitch Guthrie Jr finished out his BITD rookie
season 6th in the Turbo Championship points
battle |
“This was probably the roughest track we’ve had
all year and the first five miles were where I
really caught everyone,” said Guthrie. “The ITP
tires allowed me to bomb through the rocks.”
In the Pro Unlimited Class, Sven Ellstrom won
in his BITD debut. Carlo Caya and Jason Farrell
completed the top three.

Holz
Racing's Sven Ellstrom claimed the BITD
Unlimited class win in his BITD Racing debut
at the Pahrump 250 |
“Last year, we did our first race at the King
of the Hammers and that’s where we met Mark Holz,”
explained Ellstrom. “He told us he was interested
in building a new desert rig. My dad and I hopped
right on it and here we are winning the Unlimited
Class. We just killed it out there. At the beginning,
it was pretty rough. As soon as it opened up after
mile marker 50 it was smooth sailing. I had to
pass a couple of people and that was challenging,
but it just flowed over things. The car has a
mad amount of power and it handles great. Next
season, we’re going to run the Turbo Production
class. We’ll be at all of the big races and show
people where we’re coming from.”
BITD only has a one-month break in the action
before kicking off the 2017 season. The GMZ UTV
Winter Nationals Parker 250 is scheduled for January
6-7, 2017 in Parker, AZ.
