Parker, AZ (1/13/2015) - The 2015 Best in the Desert series kicked off this weekend with the BITD Parker 250 where the Pro Motorsports' Hancock brothers, Matt and Jeff, raced together for the first time as a team in the Pro ATV class and dominated the competition, while CT Racing’s defending Pro ATV champs, Danny Prather and David Scott, claimed second.

After record setting low temperatures set in to the desert southwest the week before, the 2015 BITD season opener, in Parker, AZ, turned out to be one of the warmest starts to the season ever. Temperatures warmed to the mid 50’s with thunderstorms brewing off in the distance.

The 2015 Best in the Desert quad classes lined up, just before dawn for a 7:30am start time. As racers left the line, there was lighting streaking through the sky off in the distance. Eventually the rain would move in, but not until the second lap of the 3 lap race.

Q9's Jeff Hancock started the BITD Parker 250 Pro Quad Race on the front row & he took advantage of it as he grabbed the early lead & handed it off to his brother, Matt Hancock , at the Midway Pit in lap one

Pro Motorsports’ Matt and Jeff Hancock teamed up for the first round of the 2015 Best in the Desert Racing Series and left no doubt that they were on a mission to win. The team left the starting line and took an early lead. The brothers stayed out front for the entire race to take the first Best in the Desert Pro Quad win of the 2015 BITD series, and third overall.

Matt Hancock Best in the Desert
Matt Hancock and his brother Jeff teamed up to race the Best in the Desert Parker 250 season opener and were able to earn the win and finish third overall

“This was the first time we ever raced together and we decided to team up for this one round since it’s close to home. We just wanted to go out there and have some fun. It was actually really big for us to go out there and take the first win. Jeff hasn’t raced in about 6 years and it has been a while since I have raced the BITD series so it’s a great way to start the year and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the year plays out,” said Matt Hancock.

Although it was the first time the Hancock bothers raced together, it seemed like they didn't skip as they lead from start to finish with an impressive five minute lead over second place & they finished third overall among Motorycles

The CT Racing team of Danny Prather and David Scott got off to a good start after a quick suspension adjustment to take on the rougher sections of the course. The defending Pro Quad champions stayed strong despite the rain that began to fall in the final hour of the race and claimed a second place finish.

Danny Prather BITD Racing
The defending BITD Racing Series Pro ATV Champion team of Danny Prather & David Scott finished second at the Best in the Desert Parker 250

“We had a good race. We had our suspension set a little too soft at the beginning, but we made a quick adjustment and our Elka’s were working great. We weren’t really prepared for the rain, but it was good because it really helped to keep the dust down in the final lap,” said Danny Prather.

David Scott BITD Racing
The CT Racing team of Danny Prather & David Scott are planning on using consistency as they chase after year another BITD Championship for 2015 in the Pro Quad Class

“We tried to close the gap on the Hancock’s but they had a good 5 minute lead on us. Even so, we are right where we need to be. Consistency is the key and that’s what we are looking for this season,” said David Scott.
