Las Vegas, NV (5/5/2014) -The ITP Tires, Polaris RZR of Justin Lambert and Jeremiah Staggs beat the odds and charged their way to the win at the 2014 Best in The Desert (BITD) Silver State 300, while the team of Scott Kiger and Mark Holz finished in second place.

There was another huge turnout for SxS’s at the Silver State 300. The UTV classes have been consistent in numbers for every round and this one was no exception, making the competition even fiercer in the desert heat.

Almost 40 SxS drivers lined up for the pre-dawn start at the BITD Silver State 300

The Side-by-Side’s were the last classes to leave the starting line, and they got the brunt of the early morning sun and dust, making visibility challenging at best. The sweltering 100+ temps also became an issue later in the day.

You can ask anyone and they will tell you that desert racing is tough and has many challenges. Sometimes just finishing the race is a serious undertaking. The number 1918 ITP Tires Polaris RZR XP 4 1000 piloted by Justin Lambert and Jeremiah Staggs have had their fair share of bad luck this season, but the Silver State 300 proved to be their best race so far after taking a hard earned win.

“We started out in 15th. We took our time and we were patient. That really paid off for us and we were able to get out front and take the win. This is really big for us because it is our first win and we are really excited,” said Lambert.

The number 1934 Coastal Racing Polaris RZR of Scott Kiger and Mark Holz had a good start and led for a while before a belt issue sent them back to second place. “We started in 18th place in the new car. The first 40 miles was the worst because of the sun and dust. We were doing really good and in the lead, but we ended up having a couple of issues and took second. Overall it was a really good day,” said Scott Kiger.

Scott Kiger & Mark Holz also started at the rear of the field. However the team would make up some time and take over the lead late into the race but would fall back to second after having to stop & change their belt

“We passed about four other teams and made it up to the lead and then we had a belt issue with about 100 miles to go. We got it fixed and put in a hard charge. We ended up in second, which we are pretty happy with,” added Mark Holz.
