In second place was Drake Koelling aboard his Honda. Koelling came around the first lap in third place and battled his way to a pass, making it into second by the fifth lap and staying there for the rest of the race.

Rounding out in third place was Root River Racing’s Tommy Vossman. “I changed a few things in my program for 2016 and Dominic Sumpolec, my personal trainer, has taken me to a new level in the fitness game. I think that was a crucial piece that I needed to run with the top guys,” explained Vossman.

The youth classes also saw some great racing at Daytona. In Super Mini Byrce Ford, the younger brother of Cody Ford, also took a win. Ford led every lap of the race, putting in a flawless moto.

Coming in second in Super Mini just slightly behind Ford was Trevor Thatcher, who also had the quickest lap time of the class with a 1:03.279.

Super Mini’s third place finish went to Lance Walker aboard his number 133 Honda.
