Can-Am’s Cody Miller quickly moved into second place and was soon under fire from Shawn Hess. Miller and Hess are frequent competitors in the TORN series and are often seen battling.

“It seems like we always end up getting locked up when we race. Shawn and I were out there swapping paint for most of the race, and battling; it was a blast,” said Cody Miller.

Miller was able to keep his second place position and claimed the second spot on the SxS podium.

“Shawn was driving really good and it took a lot to keep him behind me, but my Can-Am was handling really good out there. I was a little worried about doing all the jumps and stuff, but we went out there and it was awesome. The track was great we were able to hit everything. I’m really glad to be a part of this event and honor Caleb. It’s really special for all of us to be out here,” said Miller.

After suffering a mechanical issue during qualifiers and barely making practice before the main event, Shawn Hess made a strong comeback as he charged into the number three spot and battled fiercely with Cody Miller.

“Cody and I were battling really good. It got really single lined out there and you had to be smart about what to do. This is such a great event and to be out here in memory of Caleb. Last year we had issues and had to sit out most of the race, so it really means a lot to come out here and do well today,” said Hess who claimed the final spot on the SxS podium.
