AMA ATV Motocross Nationals
Loretta Lynn's Links
Hurricane Mills, TN (8/10/2008) – As the 2008 AMA ATV Motocross Nationals came to a close, it was Suzuki’s Chad Wienen who took the first moto win and took the overall win even after a heated battle with Honda’s Joe Byrd in the second moto.

The final round of the 2008 season was held, as usual, at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Besides all of the racing, there was plenty of entertainment at the season finale thanks to Racer Productions, and this year they hosted the first annual Kid’s Karnival on Friday with many of the pro racers participating in the activities. Also, ATVriders.com is proud to announce that we were voted as favorite website by the racers, which was a huge compliment from our future stars.

On Saturday night, ATV racer/country artist Krista Marie took the stage to put on a performance for spectators and several major record labels that were in attendance to check out her act. Krista has actually been sidelined from racing the last few rounds of the series after a nasty crash at Muddy Creek that left here with plenty of hardware as a souvenir. “All of my friends are giving me a bad time now. They say I’m no longer “stock”. Now they call me “after market” because of all the titanium in me,” Krista said jokingly.

#99 Krista Marie first started racing at the ATV Motocross Nationals in 2005 when she made her National debut at Loretta Lynn's and she continued to race a couple of event each year ever since. In 2008, Krista Marie took her ATV racing to the next level by committing herself to the entire race season in the hopes for a championship. Krista was well on her way to a top three finish till her serious wreck at Muddy Creek, which sidelined her for the rest of the season, but she was determined it wasn't going to stop her from singing at the Loretta Lynn's season finale. Not only did she sing, she captured the hearts of everyone in the crowd with an outstanding performance for many that never realized they had not only a top notch racer among them, but also an upcoming country music singer with plenty of potential to sing for an international audience in the near future. Even though she was unable to race, Krista still has the racing community’s interests at heart. “I’m hoping that I can bring the music industry and the ATV industry together, which I think would really help bring a lot of recognition to the sport,” she said. “A lot of the record execs that were out here this weekend never even knew that this track existed or even knew that ATV’s are capable of racing at the level they are at. I think they were all pretty impressed with everything that went on this weekend,” concluded Krista, who also made a pretty big impression on the record labels this weekend, which captured the attention of several record labels.

Although there were plenty of activities over the weekend, the main attraction was still the races, and Chad Wienen wasted no time showing off that he was finally back to 100% as he dominated the timed qualifying, but for those out side of the top 16, it came down to the LCQ to fill the final four spots on the gate.
