Race Report

Root River Racing’s Josh Upperman continued his
late season run, scoring his fourth top five of
the season. He finished fourth in both motos and
sits fourth in points.

Tire's Josh Upperman finished 4th in Moto
One

“I like this track a lot; it definitely separates
the men from the boys,” said Upperman. “It’s awesome
to be back up front and run up front with the
big guys. I had to put my head down and keep charging.
Joel, Chad and Jeffrey really had their bikes
dialed in and I was just trying to keep pace with
them. It was a tight race and I got a fourth.
I really wanted to gain some points, but there
is a lot of racing left.”

Maxxis / Elka’s David Haagsma finished sixth
in the first moto and fifth in second for a fifth
place overall. That finish moves him to fifth
in points in his first full season ATV Pro MX
competition.

#422 David
Haagsma rounded out the top five overall
going 6-5

“I had trouble with starts in both motos, so
I had to do a lot of work today,” said Haagsma.
“We have to get up front early to try to battle
those guys up front. I’m just as fast as these
guys, but the starts are hurting us. I battled
with Natalie in the first moto and he’s just a
great rider. He’s been doing this forever and
he knows racing lines. In the second moto, I was
able to pass Natalie and get fifth overall. The
track was gnarly, but it’s always a lot of fun.”
John Natalie Jr finished in the sixth spot, and
Thomas Brown sat out his second consecutive race
as he heals from a right hand injury.

#13 John
Natalie Jr went 5-6 for 6th Overall

The next race for the ATV Motocross Series is
scheduled for August 13-14 at Loretta Lynn Ranch
in Hurricane Mills, TN.
