Megan Shephard Clinches WMX ATV Championship

Megan Shepherd wrapped up her third consecutive ATV Motocross National Championship in WMX after winning both the first and second moto. Shepherd put down the fastest lap times of the class in both motos and won the second moto by over nine seconds.

Amanda Bustamantes out of Oklahoma took second overall in WMX. This was Bustamantes best ride of the season. She took fourth in the first moto, and came back with an impressive second place in moto two for second overall.

The number 367 of Kierstin Keane rode her Honda to third place overall with consistent third place moto finishes in both moto one and two. Keane’s third place overall finish tied her best finish of the season in this class, and she is currently fourth in points.

Root River Racing’s Noah Mickelson put in a dominating performance in 450 B to take the overall win with perfect 1-1 moto finishes. “This last weekend at Unadilla was a blast. I redeemed myself by getting two first places and having a perfect weekend. If it wasn’t for Rich Gillette, Hoosier Tires, Motowoz, and the Rage motor I could not have done it,” said Mickelson, who also won Open B to wrap-up the class championships in both 450B and Open B at Unadilla.

Cody Ford took second overall in 450 B. Ford took first in his heat race division and second in the second moto. Ford battled for the win and nearly took it, laying down the quickest lap time of the class in both the heat and second moto.

Tyler Powers rode his Yamaha to a third place overall finish. Powers rounded out the podium with a second in his heat and third in the second moto.

In Open C, Rian Smittle turned heads, taking first in the heat and second moto to claim first overall. Smittle leads the class points for the national championship.

In second was Joshua Holley with consistent and strong 2-2 moto finishes. Deven Kindrick rounded out the Open C podium with third. Kindrick won the heat division and took third in moto two.
