Green, KY (4/27/2013) –
As the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National
Championship, sanctioned by AMA, Maxxis Bluegrass
National concluded at Ballance Moto X mother
nature seemed to once again be the twenty-first
rider lining up on the gate. Even with spring
weather rolling in, defending champion Chad
Wienen not only took the overall with a 1-3
finish but extended his points lead at Round
3 of the 10-race series this weekend.

Wienen grabbed the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier
Award aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh
Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team
Vollmer machine. Wienen secured the first
gate pick position before the rain rolled
in during the first qualifier of the morning.
"I knew the first practice was going
to be the most important in securing my qualifier
time because once the rain came in, the track
was going to be slick and times would be slower.
I was really happy to have that first gate
pick because when rain is a factor the start
is crucial," said Wienen.

Wienen snagged his first SSi Decals Holeshot
Award of the 2013 season in Moto 1. With
a clear track out front, Wienen charged
ahead and found a pace that created a three
second gap on the number two position by
the end of lap one. Wienen never looked
back and had a twenty-five second gap on
the rest of the field when he took the checkers
and the Moto 1 win.
