2012 AMA Pro ATV Motocross
Round 7 - Sunday Creek
Millfield, OH (7/4/2012) – Round 7 of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series settled into the Sunday Creek MX facility for yet another intense round of competition that would be run under the hottest temperatures we have seen thus far. The severe front that pushed into the region Friday evening dealt many a serious blow as power to over three million people was knocked out as the area was hit by 80 mph winds! For the Pro AM Production class, Cody Gibson would bring his own brand of destruction as he rallied to both moto wins with little in the way of anyone challenging another dominating performance aboard his Walsh Racecraft backed Suzuki.

Cole Henry grabbed the Holeshot in Pro-Am Production Moto 1 at Sunday Creek
The gate dropped in moto one and it would be Can Am mounted Cole Henry taking the holeshot as Gibson settled in behind him. It would take less then a lap for Gibson to over take the lead and put distance between himself the rest of the field. Henry was immediately under attack from Casey Martin who applied some serious pressure on Henry as he tried to make a pass for several laps. Martin finally did just that and once again Henry found himself under assault from Kyle Fix. Fix and Henry made contact and Henry would quickly find himself over turned as the leaders streaked away. When the checkered flag came out, it was Gibson, Fix and Tyler Hamrick claiming the top three positions.

The uphill start at Sunday Creek plays no favorites however moto two would find Gibson taking the holeshot and the lead as he quickly put distance between himself and the battle that was raging behind him. Martin and Fix soon settled the running order for second place and the race quickly turned into a battle of attrition as the near 100 degree temperatures took its toll on the riders.

Walsh Race Craft's Cody Gibson swept Pro-Am Production class by winning both Motos at AMA ATV MX Round 7

Gibson would once again power his way to victory clinching another perfect weekend going 1-1 in Pro AM Production Class followed on the podium by Casey Martin and Kyle Fix.

The general consensus from the podium is that finishing behind Gibson is an accomplishment to itself and rightfully so. What the results aren't showing is the talent pool is intensifying each round as the Pro Am Production class hones its skills as they give chase to Gibson. One bobble or miscue and you drop back several positions as the competition is so incredible close marking this premier class as one of the fan favorites of the weekend.
