                              (4/21/2012) – Yamaha’s
Chad Wienen dominated round two of the 2012 AMA
ATV Motocross Championships, winning both motos
and the overall and was joined on the podium by
Can-Am/Motoworks’ John Natalie, Jr. in second
                              and Joel Hetrick in third.

                                  | SSi's #44 Chad Wienen starts off
                                      2012 with 4 straight moto wins with a 1-1
finish at Muddy Creek | Rain was in the forecast at Muddy Creek, and
it held off for quite a while, but in the final
two laps of the first moto, the skies let loose
and made things interesting for racers. By the
time the gate dropped for moto two, the skies
cleared and the track dried out nicely, making
for excellent race conditions. Yamaha/Wienen Motorsports’ Chad Wienen
was in the top five off the start and put the
hammer down. Wienen quickly worked his way into
second place and began to chase down John Natalie,
who was in the lead. Wienen caught up to Natalie
at the midway point of the moto and stayed close.
Just as the two lap board came out, the rain began
to fall and made for some slick conditions.

#44 Chad Wienen made the pass on #13 John
Natalie near the end of Moto one in a slick
turn with Natalie going wide while Wienen
cut the turn earlier to take the lead | The wet track gave Wienen the opportunity he
needed in the final lap when Natalie ended up
sliding a little wide in a corner, just a few
turns from the checkered flag. Wienen was able
to get underneath Natalie and take over the lead.
Wienen began to pull away immediately and took
                                the moto one win.

#44 Chad Wienen takes the checkered flag
for a messy Moto One win | “It was nasty out there at the end but
we turned it up for the last two laps but my Maxxis
tires hooked up and I was able to get around John.
He slid wide in the final lap and I just got under
him. Hopefully the rain lets up for moto two but
even if it doesn’t it’s still a good
                                day.”
Wienen was in second off the start in the second
moto and charged right behind Josh Upperman. It
only took a couple of laps before Wienen was able
to take over the lead and pull away. Wienen kept
a steady two second gap between him and John Natalie,
who had worked his way into second, and held him
off for the moto two win and the top spot on the
                                podium.

Moto 2, it only took #44 Chad Wienen a few
laps to catch and pass #20 Josh Upperman
to take over the lead in lap 3, which Wienen
held to the checkered flag once again for
a perfect 1-1 weekend. The win extends Wienen's
points lead to 12 points over defending
AMA Pro ATV MX champion, #1 John Natalie | “Moto one was a long moto and with the
rain coming in, it kind of helped me out. I just
put my head down and did what I had to do. It’s
all about how bad you want it. The track was good
for moto two and they did a great job getting
track ready. Ryan did his homework and I have
to thank everyone. It’s great to have another
win and I’m just happy to be out here,”
said Wienen who will be running the red points
leader number plates at round three.
