Washington,GA
(3/20/2012) – The 2012 AMA ATV
Motocross Championship kicks off this weekend
in Georgia once again, and this year is shaping
up to be an interesting one. Last season was filled
with triumphs and tragedies that set apart the
best of the best and proved that sheer determination
can overcome just about any obstacle, and also
win championships.
This year John Natalie, Jr. will be defending
the title for the Can-Am/Motoworks team but he
will have his hands full with the return of Chad
Wienen on a Yamaha YFZ450, who despite last season’s
injuries appears to be back in top form and ready
to win.

2011
AMA Pro ATV MX Champion #13 John Natalie |
Last season was a history making one for the Can-Am/Motoworks
team after John Natalie, Jr. won the team’s
first ever AMA ATV Motocross Pro Championship on
the DS450. For 2012, Natalie will be returning to
the Can-Am/Motoworks team to defend his championship
for the team.
Despite being one of the older racers in the
series, winning the championship has given new
inspiration and motivation to the “Ironman”
for the upcoming season and he is more than ready
to take on all of the competition.
“I’ve been training a lot! I have
a solid program in place and feel really prepared
this season. Everyone has put so much into this
team and the quads so I am going to do everything
I can to win the championship. No one puts more
into racing than Can-Am so I want to keep the
number one plate where it belongs, with the Can-Am/Motoworks
team,” stated Natalie.

Championship title aboard his Can-Am DS450

Natalie has been racing with Can-Am for several
years, but it took until 2011 for Natalie to win
a championship, which has sparked a new fire inside
of him. “It was discouraging at first, but
you have to keep a positive attitude and work
hard. That’s exactly what I did and it has
finally paid off. Last year was a great year for
us and I want to keep that positive aspect going
and pick up right where we left off. Now that
I have the championship, I am going to do everything
I can to keep it,” said Natalie.

Joining Natalie under the Can-Am / Motoworks
tent will be Joel Hetrick who wowed everyone in
his rookie year with his incredible speed and
overall pro wins at Unadilla and Loretta Lynn’s
late in the season. “Joel is certainly an
asset to the team. He shows a lot of potential
and we are excited to have him aboard. He has
been working hard and we expect to see a lot out
of him this year,” stated Motoworks team
owner, Johnny Leach.
