Motorsports' Josh Upperman Claims the final
spot on the Podium with a 3-3 finish |
Baldwin Motorsports' Josh Upperman grabbed the
first pro moto holeshot of the season and was
doing a great job holding off the competition,
but with pressure from both John Natalie and Chad
Wienen, Upperman ended the moto in a respectable
third place. “It felt good to grab the lead
early, but the competition is tough and everyone
is really eager to win,” said Upperman.
In the second moto, Upperman was in second behind
Harold Goodman and was immediately under pressure
from Chad Wienen and John Natalie. Upperman would
hang on to take a very solid third place finish
and claim the final spot on the pro podium. “I
had two solid motos and I think this was a great
way to start the season. We have all been working
hard to get ready for this season and I hope we
can continue to do well,” stated Upperman.

MX |
American Honda's Joe Byrd was just outside of the
top five off the start and was battling with rookie
pro Joel Hetrick. Byrd was able to make his way
around Hetrick and finish in a solid fourth in moto
one.
In the second moto, Joe Byrd got off to a mid pack
start and was locked into battle with Chase Snapp
and Jeremy Lawson, the trio charged ahead and at
one point, all three at the same time passed Harold
Goodman in what looked like a freight train going
by as Byrd would settle into the fifth spot behind
Lawson to round out the top five.

Rookie, #88 Joel Hetrick finishes an impressive
6th Overall in his Pro debut |
Joel Hetrick was looking good off the start as he
came off the line in third place. Hetrick held on
for a couple laps despite pressure from Wienen and
Byrd, but dropped back to finish in sixth. In the
second moto, Hetrick made a most impressive charge.
The young racer came off the line in 12th place
and picked off racers one by one until he made his
way into sixth place. Hetrick was closing in on
Lawson, but ran out of time before he was able to
make a move. Hetrick's impressive 6-6 finishes for
his first pro race of the season gave him sixth
overall.
